


Presentation
In the year 2024, the University of La Guajira will host the XII University Management Meeting of SUE, as an appropriate space for university reflection and recognition of the work of the institutions from the substantive functions.
The event is aimed at rectors, vice-rectors, managers, academics and professionals with responsibilities or participation in the direction and management of public and private universities and institutions of higher education.
On this occasion, the XII University Management Meeting will focus on social transformation and interculturality.



Objectives
The XII Meeting of University Management “Social Transformation and Interculturality” seeks to recognize and make visible the presence of public and private institutions as generators of significant changes in the territory.
In addition to identifying and projecting the contributions of higher education from the exchange of good practices, collaborative work from networks, and a dialogue among peers that encourages the search for possible solutions to be offered in the context.

1. University sustainability: innovative ideas
To learn about the different strategies advanced by HEIs through best practices and significant experiences in university sustainability.
- Best practices to ensure the sustainability of academic programs.
- Contribution from international cooperation in university sustainability issues.
- Successful experiences in the financial and administrative sustainability of universities.

2. Coverage with quality
Socialize strategies that facilitate the understanding of the concept of educational quality and the impact generated in the expansion of coverage.
- What do we understand by educational quality (concept according to the nature of the HEI)?
- Quality vs. Coverage? The challenge of higher education institutions.
- Implications of the regulatory changes associated with higher education (qualified registration, accreditation, free education policy, etc.).

3. Technological evolution
Good practices that are being adopted by higher education institutions regarding technological evolution.
- Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education
- Energy transition to clean and sustainable energies
- Innovation in higher education mediated by disruptive technologies.
- Digital transformation and cybersecurity

4. Transformation in the territory
Share and exchange experiences led by higher education institutions with the aim of responding to the needs present in the environment.
- Global citizenship and development of intercultural competencies.
- The university as an agent of social transformation.
- Development of institutional projects and their contribution to the fulfillment of the 2030-ODS agenda.
- Successful cases that demonstrate the articulation of the university with secondary education.

5. Legal and Regulatory Framework in University Management
Expose and exchange experiences of HEIs related to:
- Regulatory update in the Colombian university environment.
- Challenges and opportunities in the face of recent legal and jurisprudential changes.
- Good practices in adapting to new regulations in the University System.
- Copyright in the age of Artificial Intelligence.

José Manuel Restrepo
Rector of University EIA, former Rector of University del Rosario, former Minister of Finance and Minister of Commerce of Colombia.
Economist and specialist in Private Finance from Universidad del Rosario, Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and PhD in Business Administration in Higher Education Management from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom.

Mariana Passarello
Assistant Professor in the Accounting Area of the University Nacional del Noroeste de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (UNNOBA).
Certified Public Accountant with a master's degree in government auditing. Member of the Environmental Management Committee and the Information Security Committee of the UNNOBA, and member of the Planning Commission of the National Interuniversity Council (CIN).

Carlos Cantero Ojeda
Geógrafo, político independiente y doctor en Sociología. Se ha desempeñado como senador por Antofagasta (1998-2014), diputado por Calama (1990-1998) y alcalde de diferentes comunas de la Región de Antofagasta entre 1983 y 1988. Es autor de siete libros de su especialidad, coautor en diversas publicaciones y artículos académicos publicados en diferentes revistas.
Desde 2001 a la fecha es miembro de la CoMission Especial sobre Reforma del Estado, encargada de estudiar y concretar la modernización del Estado; de la CoMission Revisora de Cuentas del Senado; y del Consejo Nacional para la Regionalization y Descentralización (CONAREDE) en Chile. Además, ha sido Chairman de la CoMission de Asuntos Públicos del Parlamento Latinoamericano.

Oscar Jalil
Director of Infrastructure of University Técnica Federico de Santa María.
Master in Management and Business Administration from the University of Barcelona, Spain, as well as degrees in Civil Construction and Civil Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Chile. In addition, I have completed complementary studies in Project Evaluation, Negotiation, Sales and Marketing in the Real Estate Industry at the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.
