Presentation by the Office of the Vice President for Quality

The Vice Rector's Office for Quality was created on January 11, 2022, through Agreement No. 001 issued by the Superior Council, which defines and updates the organizational structure of the University of La Guajira.

It has the generation and maintenance of a culture framed in the quality management and quality assurance systems within the university, in accordance with the regulatory and legal provisions emanating from each of the external bodies that govern it and from the institution itself. It also seeks to strengthen the institutional educational quality in a comprehensive manner, through the implementation of strategies aimed at providing an efficient and effective educational service, which additionally allow counteracting the opportunities for improvement detected in the evaluation processes developed by the academic-administrative units.

  • Strengthen and energize the internal quality assurance system by guaranteeing the educational service provided by the institution through self-evaluation, self-regulation and continuous improvement processes.
  • Promote a culture of quality within the University of La Guajira, which integrates the quality management system based on ISO 9001 with the quality assurance system (Decree 1330 of 2019).
  • Contribute to the improvement of institutional quality.
  • To guarantee compliance with institutional policies associated with self-evaluation, accreditation and qualified registration.
  • To have consistent, reliable and timely information available for institutional decision making.
  • Lead the construction and updating of the Quality Policy of the University of La Guajira, keeping it at the forefront of the national and international environment.
  • Promote the sustainability and strengthening of the Integrated Quality Management System of the University of La Guajira.
  • To sustain and strengthen the Internal Control Standard Model, in coordination with the Quality Management System.
