La oficina de Quality Assurance es la dependencia responsable y encargada de orientar la implementación del Sistema Interno de Aseguramiento en la University of La Guajira, a través de los procesos de fomento de la calidad, autoevaluación, autorregulación y mejora continua. Dichos procesos son apoyados con la participación de las unidades académicas y dependencias en la búsqueda de la cultura de calidad, buscando garantizar el logro de los propósitos institucionales resultantes de los fines del registro calificado y la acreditación de programas e institucional.
Functions
Our work consists of preparing proposals and programs that enrich the discussion in the Institutional Self-Evaluation Committee. In addition, we act as secretary of this committee, ensuring that the minutes are kept up to date and in order.
- Prepare proposals and programs for discussion in the Institutional Self-Evaluation Committee.
- To act as secretary of the Institutional Self-evaluation Committee and keep the minutes up to date and in order.
- Lead and stimulate self-evaluation processes at the university level.
- Permanently disseminate activities and information related to the self-evaluation and accreditation processes to the university community.
- Advise, file and follow up, through the SACES application, the programs that request qualified registration and their renewals.
- Advise, direct and coordinate all matters related to the process of self-evaluation and high quality accreditation of programs and the institution.

We focus on providing comprehensive support to the academic programs and departments of the University of La Guajira in its constant search for educational excellence. Our work lies in guiding these areas in the fulfillment of the quality standards necessary to obtain the qualified registration and accreditation of programs, both at the institutional level as well as specific academic programs.
- Promote processes of promotion and socialization related to quality in an integral manner.
- To orient programs and units in relation to institutional and program quality conditions, in relation to the qualified registration and accreditation of programs and institutional accreditation.
- Accompany the academic programs in the development of processes for the renewal of their qualification registration.
- Accompany academic programs in the development of self-evaluation processes.
