The Legal Clinic of the University of La Guajira of Colombia, provides free legal assistance to all persons of limited economic resources who request it, in the areas of Civil Law, Labor Law, Criminal Law, Administrative Law, Family Law and Customary Law of ethnic minorities, within the existing limitations on the matter.
Our Mission
At the Universidad de La Guajira de Colombia, the practice of legal consultancy that takes place in the last two years of the law degree, in addition to being a requirement for obtaining the degree, has as its mission, the clearest materialization of the social function of the legal profession, which is why it is focused exclusively on people of strata 1, 2 and 3; Eventually and only in cases of disability to citizens of strata 4; so you have to keep in mind that the management made in the law office is completely free and without any intention of profit or remuneration for the student or people related to him, so it is forbidden to recommend or send cases to private legal professionals.
Our Vision
In the first half of the XXI century the Legal Clinic of the University of La Guajira and the Conciliation Center attached to the clinic, will be established as the administrative academic scenario par excellence of greater use and impact with which people of limited economic resources will have access to judicial and extrajudicial bodies, in search of justice and equity or the recognition and effectiveness of a right. Likewise, to position conciliation in people as a necessary element in the solution of their daily conflicts, achieving the recognition of it as an effective, useful and indispensable tool in the professional practice and in the human relations of our consultants and the healthy coexistence.

Purpose of the legal office
The Legal Clinic of the University of La Guajira, Colombia, has as its objective:
- To provide a free legal assistance service to all low-income persons who request it.
- To carry out judicial and administrative proceedings.
- To answer queries and conduct research assigned to him/her on legal matters.
- Encourage and promote conflict resolution mechanisms through settlement, accompaniment in judicial or extrajudicial conciliation hearings in authorized centers.
