The articulation between the university and the productive sector through agreements is a fundamental strategy to promote economic and social development. These agreements allow the transfer of knowledge, the generation of innovation and the contribution to sustainable development, emphasizing the construction of a social fabric, based on Extension and Social Projection. By working closely together, both the university and the productive sector can face the challenges of today's world and contribute to the progress of society. It is necessary to encourage and strengthen these agreements, promoting a culture of collaboration and cooperation between both parties, for the benefit of all the actors involved and the development in articulation between the social, cultural and economic aspects of our societies.

During the first, second and third quarters of 2023, six (6) strategic agreements have been formalized for the expansion of the institution as a builder of the social fabric.

Framework agreement signed between the University of La Guajira and the Brisas del Norte Foundation

Object of the agreement

To structure, strengthen and define the conditions of cooperation between THE UNIVERSITY OF LA GUAJIRA AND THE BRISAS DEL NORTE FOUNDATION, within a framework of mutual collaboration, joining efforts and administrative, human and technical resources for the consolidation of a research, academic and pedagogical alliance, which allows the articulation of both entities and the integral formation of students and teachers, as well as to advance academic, research, extension and cultural activities under the principles of quality, equity, inclusion and mutual convenience.

Activity:

Diploma in coexistence and participation for social integration: The diploma program is in the construction phase and is designed with the purpose of developing personal and technical skills in the community bases of Villa del Sur and Cardón Guajiro for citizen coexistence, active participation, social dialogue and human rights as fundamental elements to achieve social integration. These skills will be intertwined and mutually reinforcing, forming the foundations of inclusive, equitable, cohesive communities with self-management criteria for community strengthening.

Framework agreement signed between the University of La Guajira and the Juan Parra School of Performing Arts Foundation

Object of the agreement

The purpose of this agreement is to structure, strengthen and define the conditions of cooperation between the UNIVERSITY OF LA GUAJIRA AND THE JUAN PARRA SCHOOL OF SCENIC ARTS FOUNDATION, within a framework of mutual collaboration, joining efforts and administrative, human and technical resources for the consolidation of a research, academic and pedagogical alliance, which allows the articulation of both entities and the comprehensive training of students and teachers, academic and pedagogical alliance, which allows the articulation of both entities and the integral formation of students and teachers, as well as to advance academic, research, extension and cultural activities under the principles of quality, equity, inclusion and mutual convenience.

Activity:

Discussion: Building safe spaces for the LGBTIQ+ population from the education sector in the district of Riohacha. Within the framework of the articulation with different organizations (local, national and international), awareness was raised among the university population and the external sector. With a focus on inclusion and non-discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity; adding the ethnic diversity in the territory and the border situation with the commitment to the integration of the refugee and migrant population in La Guajira. This discussion was based on school and university coexistence for the social inclusion of this community.

Benefited population:

181 people from the different university strata: Students 113, Faculty 8, and Community 60.

Agreement with the Revolving Fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Object of the agreement

Promote economic empowerment and psychosocial support for women victims of displacement and sexual violence in the context of the armed conflict in the District of Riohacha.

Activity:

Project Promote economic empowerment and psychosocial support for women victims of displacement and sexual violence in the context of the armed conflict in the District of Riohacha. The project will be carried out with the purpose of promoting economic empowerment and psychosocial support for women victims of displacement and sexual violence in the context of the armed conflict in the District of Riohacha.

Specific cooperation agreement signed between the University of La Guajira and the Colombian Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences

Object of the agreement

This agreement establishes the basis for cooperation aimed at generating a strategic alliance between THE UNIVERSITY AND THE COMPANY, for the creation of internships in real productions, increasing the probability of job placement in the audiovisual sector, which will benefit young people in vulnerable conditions in the department of La Guajira.

Activity:

Phase I of the Sandbox Audiovisual Colombia Project: The first phase of the technical training of young people in vulnerable conditions and practices in audiovisual productions was carried out, allowing each of the participants to explore the audiovisual world, and how this can be a way to enhance academic training or technical preparation for an audiovisual labor market or supported by it.

Benefited population:

224 people from the different university strata and the community in general.

Agreement signed between Universidad EAFIT, Universidad de La Guajira and Viva 1A IPS

Object of the agreement

To join efforts for the organization, coordination and execution of academic, research and commercial activities and projects aimed at the promotion of social entrepreneurship and the generation of sustainable short circuits of commercialization and local economies for young people belonging to vulnerable populations in the district of Riohacha, ensuring the maximum use of human and material resources available to the parties.

Activity:

Second phase Project for the formation and development of social entrepreneurship ecosystems Emprende 1A. EMPRENDE1A is a capacity building program in Social Entrepreneurship with a Gender Approach, which appears as a result of the trust and social commitment of the IPS Viva1A and EAFIT University through EAFIT Social, combined with the commitment of high-value allies such as the University of Guajira, generating a real ecosystem that welcomes and supports local economies.

In this second phase, each of the entrepreneurs participating in the project will be invited to a pitch session in order to measure the degree of maturity and solidity of the venture and to offer options and routes that may even provide seed capital for some of the participants.

El presente convenio tiene por objeto estructurar, fortalecer y definir las condiciones de cooperación entre LA UNIVERSITY OF LA GUAJIRA GRANJCOL Y LA ASOCIACIÓN DE GRANJEROS, PARCELEROS Y PROFESIONALES DE LA GUAJIRA – ASGROPAGUA, Dentro de un marco de colaboración mutua, aunando esfuerzos y recursos administrativos, humanos y técnicos para el desarrollo etnoagropecuario de la región de los Cerritos, Parantiza, Juan de Aragón y Guayacanal el cual beneficiara a las comunidades indígenas y granjeros asentados en estas zonas, del Distrito de Riohacha, para el fortalecimiento de las instituciones en la consecución de sus objetivos misionales, que permitan mejorar la calidad de vida de sus asociados.
