Our cultural area is responsible for coordinating, managing and devising strategies for programs and policies of creation, exchange, stimulation, awareness, appreciation and execution of the various artistic and cultural manifestations from extracurricular training processes to university strata with events that allow its projection. Conjugating cultural development, artistic representations and the formation of audiences in disciplines such as music, dance, performing arts, creative writing, plastic arts and handicrafts. This is based on the recognition of the diversity of the actors that are part of the educational community in an attempt to complement the integral formation of the university strata from a mechanism of assertive inclusion.
Actualmente, el Área de Culture desarrolla procesos formativos y de representación institucional en disciplinas como la música, a través del Grupo Vallenato, el Semillero de Guitarra, el Semillero de Piano, la Coral Étnica, Música Folclórica y Música Alternativa; la danza, mediante los grupos de Danzas Folclóricas, Nuevas Tendencias y Danzas Étnicas; además de procesos en Fine Arts y Modelaje.

To establish guidelines for the construction, coordination and implementation of the cultural parameters and strategies established in the University Social Welfare policy; contributing to promote and strengthen artistic and cultural processes, programs, projects and activities that recognize, protect, promote and make visible the cultural diversity of the department and promote a culture of peace.

Artes plásticas
Description of the project:
It covers the symbolic and historical foundations and the techniques involved in the creation, realization and artistic expression of sculpture, painting, designs, engravings, among others. It transmits ideas in a creative and sensitive way using different methods and materials. Aimed at different university students.
Coral étnico
Description of the project:
A space for artistic training aimed at Uniguajira's members belonging to the Wayuu ethnic group, for the intonation of songs and hymns in Wayunaiki, focusing on the preservation, promotion and valuation of the intangible heritage of the department of La Guajira.
Música alternativa
Description of the project:
Artistic discipline where the ballad, rock, hip hop, reggaeton and tropical music genres are taught, allowing a range of possibilities for university students who wish to complement their musical knowledge or venture into the acquisition of musical skills in different alternative genres.
Música Folclórica
Description of the project:
To create sensitivity and respect for the area of folkloric and raizal music, based on the knowledge of its origins, importance in human evolution and theoretical-practical knowledge of the harmonious foundations, in order to reach the mastery of artistic reading and the handling of instrumental airs.
Danzas étnicas y folclóricas
Description of the project:
It strengthens the corporal handling through the dances, allowing the rescue of the folkloric manifestations of the region and the country. It is complemented by the folkloric-musical group, which allows live accompaniment for the dancers.
Danzas nuevas tendencias
Description of the project:
In response to the artistic and cultural vanguard that we face in the XXI century, a dance group was consolidated to respond to the various dance genres. Also, taking into account the multiculturalism and national expansion that has been forged in our institution demanding minority proposals that transgress the native and native dynamics of our sector. In this discipline, rhythms such as hip-hop, break dance, krump, popping, among other current dance genres are taught.
Conjunto vallenato
Description of the project:
Since vallenato accordion music is one of the most characteristic airs of the Department of La Guajira, we prioritize its implementation from an extracurricular training exercise, which bases the historical and evolutionary aspects of its development, with theoretical-practical strategies, achieving in this way the valuation of their work and a better understanding of their knowledge.
Modelaje
Description of the project:
Con el propósito de fortalecer las habilidades de expresión corporal, comunicación, proyección escénica e imagen personal, el Área de Culture promueve el proyecto de Modelaje como un espacio formativo que permite a los estudiantes desarrollar competencias relacionadas con el porte, la elegancia, la seguridad and the manejo adecuado de la imagen en diferentes contextos sociales, académicos y culturales.
A través de esta disciplina se trabajan aspectos como pasarela, postura, protocolo, etiqueta, expresión corporal y fortalecimiento de la autoestima, contribuyendo al desarrollo integral de los participantes y a la representación institucional en eventos académicos, culturales y protocolares.
Semillero de Guitarra

Con el objetivo de fomentar la formación musical and the desarrollo de talentos artísticos dentro de la comunidad universitaria, el Semillero de Guitarra se consolida como un espacio de aprendizaje, práctica y exploración musical dirigido a estudiantes interesados en el estudio de este instrumento.
Mediosnte procesos de formación teórico-prácticos, los participantes adquieren conocimientos básicos e intermedios sobre técnica instrumental, lectura musical, armonía, acompañamiento y ejecución de diversos géneros musicales. Este semillero contribuye al fortalecimiento de las capacidades artísticas de los estudiantes, promoviendo la creatividad, la sensibilidad musical y la participación en muestras y eventos culturales institucionales.
Semillero de Piano
Description of the project:
Atendiendo a la importancia de la formación musical como herramienta para el desarrollo artístico, cognitivo y cultural de los estudiantes, el Semillero de Piano se constituye como un espacio orientado al aprendizaje y perfeccionamiento de las habilidades interpretativas en este instrumento.
A través de procesos formativos progresivos, los participantes desarrollan competencias relacionadas con la lectura musical, técnica pianística, interpretación, coordinación y apreciación musical, abordando diferentes estilos y repertorios. Esta disciplina favorece el crecimiento artístico de los estudiantes y fortalece los procesos culturales de la institución mediante su participación en actividades académicas, culturales y de proyección artística.
